The mission of the Northeast Philadelphia Hall of Fame is to foster the development of civic values and a sense of community in Northeast Philadelphia, along with a greater awareness and appreciation of the area’s rich history, by honoring the lives and accomplishments of its most distinguished citizens. To that end, the Northeast Philadelphia Hall of Fame will honor those Northeast Philadelphia residents past and present whose lives or careers have been marked by high achievement or those individuals who have had a lasting, significant, and positive impact on the Northeast Philadelphia community.
Often called “the Great Northeast,” Northeast Philadelphia is an area of approximately forty-four square miles bounded by the Delaware River to the east, Bucks County to the north, Montgomery County to the west, and the Tacony and Frankford Creeks to the south. It is an area with a distinguished history that was provided enriched by the contributions of countless individuals who have lived and worked here over the years.
The Northeast Philadelphia Hall of Fame is sponsored by Glen Foerd on the Delaware in partnership with Holy Family University, the Historical Society of Frankford, The Northeast Times, and the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. The inaugural induction ceremony was held in October 2009, with the subsequent inductions in October 2010, 2012, and 2014. The Hall of Fame is guided by two committees: the Selection Committee, which chooses the inductees, and the Steering Committee, which plans the induction ceremony and raises money for the project.
Solly Stables’ mission is to provide a unique equestrian experience, building self-confidence, fostering independence and caring for horses by promoting compassion and learning through riding and educational experiences. Solly Stable strives to achieve this mission regardless of a person’s ability to contribute financially.
The Philadelphia Foundation – Financial Literacy Fund of TruMark Financial
Since 1918, The Philadelphia Foundation has linked those with financial resources to those who serve societal needs. It is the region’s community foundation, serving Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. By growing the 900 funds established by its donors and distributing about $20 million annually in grants and scholarships to effective nonprofit organizations, The Philadelphia Foundation improves Southeastern Pennsylvania’s quality of life. National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) (10 years)
Founded in 1933, The National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) served as a not-for-profit business management association representing companies in the $80+ billion commercial printing and graphic communications industry in North America, and served the quick and small printing business segment through the National Association of Quick Printers (NAQP).
The Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce has been in existence for over 90 years. The Chamber was formed as a private business organization dedicated to the success of our community and the free enterprise system. The Chamber of Commerce is here to help and support the business community of Northeast Philadelphia and in particular its membership. It helps to solve everyday problems that the businesses encounter. We strive to give our neighborhoods support in order that the community will remain strong into the future.
