Role Description

This full-time, on-site role is based in Saline, MI. As a General Bindery & Production Team Member, you will be responsible for completing all finishing services for press and copier work in compliance with job specifications and quality standards. Complete client’s job/project which may include drilling, stapling, glue padding, inserting, collating, laminating, cutting, folding, scoring, slitting, numbering, labeling, shrink wrapping, spiral binding, boxing, and packaging as well as assistance with mailing and/or large format projects.  Provides continual care and maintenance on equipment, troubleshooting, and repairing. Serves as a member of the production team, communicates regularly with supervisors, production managers, customer service and sales.

Essential Duties and/or Experience

  • Receive printed materials, perform work necessary to create finished product
  • Verify job needs by reading the job ticket for information to perform correct finishing work, understand parameters, quantity, end product expectations
  • Operate bindery and finishing equipment such as folders, cutters, drills, collators, booklet makers, and shrink-wrapping equipment
  • Support mailing operations (inserting, tabbing, addressing) as needed
  • Assist with large-format finishing and installation
  • Adhere to and perform finishing work that meets/exceeds operational standards and deadlines
  • Utilize equipment and hands to collate, fold and bind printed materials
  • Configure cutter, saddles stitchers and folders properly for job
  • Apply quality standard of finishing process to all projects/jobs
  • Comply with OSHA, safety requirements, work rules and regulations

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Minimum 2 years of print/bindery experience required
  • Experience with mailing equipment and/or large-format installation is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced production environment

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret job tickets, instructions, production needs and company information. Ability to write simple correspondence, communicate with production team in an effective and professional manner.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply to practical situations and printing jobs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to perform work as outlined through written and/or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems using independent thinking and problem-solving skills in standard situations.

Role Description

Responsible for the development of new business through a consultative, solution-based approach. Responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable business-to-business relationships on behalf of the company. Actively prospect for new accounts through cold calling, online, email campaign activities and by engaging in outside sales activities including visiting businesses, attending networking events, and connecting with key groups as defined by the center owner as a strategic component of the overall center sales development plan. Effectively closes sales in a professional manner to meet and exceed quotas and increase the Company’s overall profitability.

Essential Duties and/or Experience

  • Prospect new customers, develop new business, target key prospects
  • Conducts needs-based consultative meetings with prospects and existing accounts with appropriate decision-makers
  • Presents products and services of the company that conveys quality, integrity, and a superior understanding and fulfillment of client’s needs
  • Develop solution-based presentations and present them to clients
  • Continuously serves existing clients with current orders and introduces additional products and services
  • Engages in lead management and appointment setting daily, follows up on all leads and quotes
  • Articulates print, print capabilities within the organization, conveys information to clients
  • Provides order follow-through and communication with clients
  • Serves as a liaison between production and client
  • Seeks to understand and learn new and effective consultative sales techniques, participates in trainings
  • Complies with consultative sales philosophy and all sales programs in place
  • Plan and develop an annual sales and marketing strategy in conjunction with management/sales support specialist to identify joint marketing opportunities
  • Retains and grows existing account base, cross-selling additional services
  • Prepares and presents marketing plans and proposals
  • Meets and/or exceed sales goals on a regular basis
  • Remains current on industry trends and new technologies through key trade magazines and print related resources
  • Communicates effectively and engages with management, marketing, production and customer service teams to provide information and pertinent updates to ensure client’s needs are met
  • Adheres to systems, policies and procedures as outlined
  • Serves as support to operations
  • Attend training as required, online and in person.

Must be familiar with current marketing trends, techniques and services available. Print and Sign industry experience is not required, but desirable.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend correspondence, instructions, requests and abstract concepts to assist client with needs. Ability to professionally respond verbally and in written correspondence. Ability to professionally articulate solutions, effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups situations to clients and decision-makers and within the organization with coworkers, production team, and management.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read a ruler, measuring tape and comfort with electronic measuring tools is required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and less defined written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of variables and to find reasonable solutions.
