... The world’s smallest printed book is tiny - just 0.74 X 0.75 mm!
Titled "Flowers of the four seasons" (Shiki no Kusabana in Japanese), this 22-page “micro-book” showcases monochrome illustrations of Japanese flowers – such as the cherry blossom – each labeled in Japanese, Chinese and Roman characters. Created by Toppan Printing Co., Ltd. in Tokyo using advanced micro-engraving technology, the book’s text and images are so tiny they can only be viewed through magnification. Today, this remarkable work of craftsmanship is on display at the Printing Museum in Tokyo – a fascinating tribute to just how far printing innovation can go.
