Julia Harrison is president and owner of Allegra in south Lexington. She moved to Lexington, Kentucky from Warren, Michigan with her family in 1996. She is a graduate from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where she earned a Masters of Business Administration in 1996. Julia was a Peace Corps volunteer from 1982 to 1985. She spent her time in the Republic of Cameroon in west Central Africa. There she carried out projects in Women's Activities. She also worked on and help organize Water and Sanitation projects. Julia is a member of Lexington South Lions Club where she serves her community through many humanitarian projects throughout the year. Projects include the Lions Run for Sight, volunteering at God's Pantry Food Bank, Red Kettle Campaign with the Salvation Army, the Meal Program for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass and many other volunteer and donation programs that benefit the Lions Camp Crescendo.
