5 Must-Haves For Your Next Trade Show

Let's Start A Conversation:

A trade show is an opportunity. Don’t waste it by not being prepared. Take the time to ensure your booth setup is at its best so you can make a lasting impression. Use this list as your guide so you are more than ready!

1. Eye-Catching Tradeshow Signs

Draw attention to your booth with signs that stand out. The goal is to be able to attract the attention of people coming from all directions. Just one sign simply won’t cut it. Get creative with a multitude of signs that will bring the people to you. Make sure you maintain balance and style by not going overboard, of course. Consider a combination of:

Banners – Retractable & Hanging
Posters
Floor Graphics
Wayfinding Signs
Backdrops

2. Useful Promotional Products

Tradeshows are all about the swag. In this day and age, you simply can’t show up to an event without a bevy of promotional products. Consider items that make the most sense for your business and that your customers or clients will respond to more readily. Items that are cool but also useful. Start with a bag so that your guests can easily carry other items too. Regardless of what you choose, your logo and business name will be prominently displayed so they know exactly where these nifty items came from—you. Consider:

Bags
Mugs & Drinkware
Desk Items – Calculators, Logo Pens, Pads
Computer Accessories – Mouse Pad, USB Drives
Health & Safety Items – Lip Balm, First Aid Kit, Flashlight, Forehead Thermometer

3. Informative Printed Materials

Do a lot of printed materials end up in the recycling bin? Eventually. But the long-term impact of having these items available is invaluable. Tradeshows are chaotic. Sometimes people aren’t able to process everything until after the tradeshow has ended. When they come across your brochure or business card in the stack of papers they have acquired, they will remember everything else you had to offer during your conversation. So don’t forget to have:

Brochures
Flyers
Business Cards

4. Planned Organizational Materials

Trade show displays need to be organized. Outfitting your booth with all of the items listed above is not complete without a plan. How you display all of your printed materials, signs, and products matters. You don’t want items haphazardly stacked or propped up around your booth. You want a clean, inviting setup that will not only draw people in, but encourage them to stay for a moment and hear what you have to say. Make sure you have all of the necessary organizational items including:

Business Card Stands
Banner Stands
Brochure Display
Boxes or Jars for Promotional Items

5. Personal Survival Kit

Trade shows are long. Believe it or not, you are one of the most important parts of your display and you need to be at your best. Make sure you have your own bag or backpack—complete with company logo of course—with everything you need to make it through the day. You know yourself better than anyone, so there might be something you need that we didn’t think of, but items may include:

Water
Caffeine
Gum
Snacks
Change of Clothes
Tissues
Personal Hygiene Items
